Fine Cut seals slew of deals for The Chaser, Hansel And Gretel

Seoul-based sales agent Suh Young-joo's newly launched Fine Cut has announced a raft of deals from the European Film Market (EFM).
Na Hong-jin's action thriller The Chaser did pre-sales to Haut et Court for France, Cineart for Benelux, Seven Group for Greece, and Golden Scene for Hong Kong.
At its opening, the film racked up $4.8m this past weekend according to KOFIC, with local industry buzz tipping Na as the new hot director to watch.
Fine Cut added that interest from Japan and the US was high on the film, and that they expect to close more post-Berlin deals.
Yim Phil-sung's dark fantasy Hansel And Gretel sold to A-Film for Benelux, Seven Films for Greece and Innoform for Singapore. The production art-driven film had already done pre-sales to Wild Side for France.
A-Film also pre-bought Siddiq Barmak's Opium War and Volcano High director Kim Taegyun's Crossing for Benelux. Both films are in post-production.
Although Suh launched Fine Cut at this past EFM to go independent from her former label Cineclick Asia's parent company Fantom Entertainment, she still oversees sales of Cineclick's library titles.
For Cineclick, Suh closed deals on Hong Kong director Pang Ho-cheung's Exodus with Aztek International for Australia, Fighter In The Wind to Barnhill Group for the ex-USSR territories, and teen action comedy Make It Big! and drama La Belle to Taiwan's Waysen. Poland's May Fly bought Kim Ki-duk library titles Crocodile and Samaritan Girl.
Bong Joon-ho's The Host sold to its last remaining territory, Italy, to M.H.A.O. Production and Management.
Cineclick also did two library deals to India. UTV picked up 18 titles including Old Boy, 3-Iron, A Tale Of Two Sisters, Blue Swallow, The Bow and Lucky Miles.
In addition, Alliance M&E bought nine arthouse titles including Tuya's Marriage, Oasis, and Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring.
Fine Cut is readying the market premieres of Ba:bo and Love, First for the upcoming Hong Kong Filmart.
