Hong Kong and Macau rights to the Leesong Hee-il-directed film were sold by Finecut to Sun Entertainment. A similar deal was struck with Joint Entertainment for Taiwan release.
¡°Night Flight¡± premiered in Berlin¡¯s Panorama section last month and is a tale of high school boys, love among sexual minorities, and an examination of societal problems perpetrated by the school system inSouth Korea.
Finecut also recently sold smash hit drama ¡°The Attorney¡± to Edko for HK and South East Asia and to Joint for Taiwan.
¡°Han Gong-Ju,¡± the debut feature by Lee Sujin that has won a series of awards at Rotterdam, Marrakech and the Deauville Asian Film Festival, was sold by Finecut to several European buyers. It was picked up by Third Window Films for the U.K. and Ireland, Dissidenz for France and Mediatres for Spain.
Other deals saw hit thriller ¡°Hide and Seek¡± sold to Edel Germany for Germany and Austria; ¡°Intruders¡± sold to Hwa Yea Multimedia for Malaysia; spy actioner ¡°Iris: New Generation¡± sold to Nettai Museum for Japan; and ¡®The Fake¡± sold to Mediatres for Spain.
Lee Ju-hyung¡¯s Tokyo Int¡¯l Film Festival Audience Award winning debut film ¡°Red Family¡± was sold to Astro for South East Asia; Kim Ki-duk¡¯s ¡°Moebius¡± was sold to Njutra Films for Sweden and Finland; and ¡°Sea Fog¡¯ (Haemoo) was pre-sold to Filmware Intl. for Taiwan.
