At the start of Hong Kong FilMart, South Korea's Finecut Co Ltd ÈÀÎÄÆ has announced a series of deals.
Taiwan's Joint Entertainment International Inc Ê¢ç±çôäÅÏÐð·ÍÆ份êóùÚÍëÞÉ has taken The Attorney º¯È£ÀÎ, one of South Korea's biggest box office hits, with 11.4 million admissions since opening mid-December. The film has also sold to Edko Films Ltd äÌäÅç¯ø¸êóùÚÍëÞÉ for Hong Kong and Southeast Asia.
Joint has also picked up LEE SONG Hee-il ÀÌ¼ÛÈñÀÏ | ×Ýáæýììé's Night Flight ¾ß°£ºñÇà (pictured) for Taiwan. The gay highschool drama premiered in the Berlin International Film Festival's Panorama section. It also screens this week at the Hong Kong International Film Festival úÅùûÏÐð·ï³ç¯ï½.
Fresh from its multiple award wins at the Deauville Asian Film Festival | Festival du Film Asiatique de Deauville, Han Gong-ju ÇÑ°øÁÖ has closed deals with Dissidenz Films for France, Third Window Films for the United Kingdom and Mediatres Estudio for Spain. Mediatres also picked up animation The Fake »çÀÌºñ.
Tokyo International Film Festival competition entry Red Family ºÓÀº °¡Á·, produced and written by KIM Ki-duk ±è±â´ö | ÑÑÐñÓì, has been picked up for Southeast Asia by Astro Group. Gaga Corporation «®«ã«¬ recently announced that it would release the black comedy in Japan in October.
In additional deals, Kim's Moebius ¸þºñ¿ì½º has sold to Njutafilms for Finland and Sweden. The BONG Joon-ho ºÀÁØÈ£ | ÜåñÕûÄ-produced Sea Fog ÇØ¹« has sold to Filmware International Co Ltd for Taiwan; Finecut previously announced deals to Japan (Twin Co Ltd êóùÚ会Þä«Ä«¤«ó) and Europe (Wild Side Films).
