BERLIN: Seoul-based sales company Finecut Co Ltd ÈÀÎÄÆ started Berlin's European Film Market with a splash of deals on its festival and market titles.
Rights to Nobody's Daughter Haewon ´©±¸ÀÇ µþµµ ¾Æ´Ñ ÇØ¿ø (pictured), the only Asian film in the Berlin International Film Festival competition, were scooped up by Les Acacias for France and by California Filmes for Brazil. Both are regular buyers of films by director HONG Sang-soo È«»ó¼ö | ûóßÈâ³.
Two films which premiered at the Venice International Film Festival, Pietà ÇÇ¿¡Å¸ and Weight ¹«°Ô, continue to do business for the company.

Pieta, which won the Golden Lion at Venice, has recently been sold to NonStop Entertainment AB for Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Iceland; California Filmes for Brazil and Latin American pay TV; Distribucion de Pelicula Zatmeni for Mexico, Mongrel Media for Canada; Contact Film for Benelux; Aurora Films for Poland; Lev Cinemas Ltd for Israel; M Pictures for Thailand; and MCF Megacom Film for the Ex-Yugoslavia territories and Albania.
South Korean box office hit The Grand Heist ¹Ù¶÷°ú ÇÔ²² »ç¶óÁö´Ù and the comic horror Ghost Sweepers Á¡ÀïÀÌµé were both sold to Maxam Inc «Þ«¯«¶«à for Japan and to AV-Jet International Media Co Ltd Þ«ú¼ÏÐð·ãÊôéÍÆ份êóùÚÍëÞÉ for Taiwan.
The deal of Ghost Sweepers to Lotte Cinema ·Ôµ¥½Ã³×¸¶ for release in Vietnam was also announced; it opened there on 25 Jan 2013.
Blind ºí¶óÀÎµå (2011), a thriller starring KIM Ha-neul ±èÇÏ´Ã | ÑÑùÃÑÖ and YU Seung-ho À¯½ÂÈ£ | 俞ã¯ûß was sold to TVB for Hong Kong and Macau, and to ABS-CBN Creative Programs Inc for the Philippines. Creative also acquired a package of Finecut's films including Pieta and Unbowed ºÎ·¯Áø È»ì (2011) for cable television broadcast.
In Berlin, Finecut has launched sales of JUNG Keun-sup Á¤±Ù¼·'s thriller Montage ¸ùÅ¸ÁÖ and Rough Play ¹è¿ì´Â ¹è¿ì´Ù, directed by SHIN Yeon-shik ½Å¿¬½Ä and produced by KIM Ki-duk ±è±â´ö | ÑÑÐñÓì.
