South Korean sales company Finecut has announced further deals from the AFM led by Leafie, Korea¡¯s highest grossing animation, which sold to Ascot Elite for German-speaking territories and Conquest Filmes for Brazil.
The animation about a hen who runs into the wild and adopts a duckling previously sold to ex-USSR excluding Baltic States (CP Digital), Portugal (Lanterna De Pedra Filmes), Turkey (Horizon), Middle East (TDH), and Indonesia (Pratama).
Finecut says that most of the distributors plan to release Leafie theatrically early next year, ¡°aiming for the family movie market¡±.
Hit thriller Blind, starring Kim Ha-neul, sold to King Records for Japan and to Hwa Yea Multimedia for Malaysia and Brunei after recent deals for German-speaking territories (MFA+), Taiwan (Eagle International Communication), and Thailand (STG).
Horror title The Cat also sold to Magnetar for Japan and Mercury for French-speaking territories in addition to previous sales to Singapore, Malaysia (Scorpio Eaast), Taiwan (Eagle International), and Indonesia (DCU Home Entertainment).
The film version of a TV series, Athena: Goddess Of The War sold to New View TV & Media for China, Tiberius Films for German-speaking territories, and Funimation for North America. The spin-off has been sold to more than 12 territories.
Finecut¡¯s new comedy film Unstoppable Family also sold to JoyNContents for Japan, International for Taiwan and CJ CGV for the US.
JoyNContents also picked up Heartbeat, starring Yunjin Kim from the US TV series Lost, along with three other library titles for Japan.
