MONTAGE (2013)

Ha-kyung lost her daughter 15 years ago to a kidnapping case. She spent those years chasing down the kidnapper who took the life of her only family. Chung-ho, the detective in charge of the case at the time, is filled with remorse for not being able to catch the kidnapper who got away right in front of him. He did everything in his power to catch the suspect but the case still remains unsolved.

A week before the expiration of statute of limitations on the case, Chung-ho visits Ha-kyung to inform her about it. Ha-kyung unloads a pile of evidence she has gathered over the years in a fit of anger and asks how the suspect is at large even with this much evidence. She refuses to accept the fact that the suspect got away and that he can't be prosecuted for his past crime in a few days. The next day, Chung-ho discovers a single flower placed at the crime scene and realizes that this may be his last chance to catch the suspect. He tracks down several leads but the suspect gets away once again and the statute of limitation ends unceremoniously.

An elderly man spends a quiet afternoon at the playground with his granddaughter. While he goes back in the house to answer a phone call, the grandchild is kidnapped. A task force is assembled to retrieve her but the case unfolds exactly the same way as Ha-kyung's daughter's kidnapping case 15 years ago. Sensing that the kidnapper is back once again, the detective in charge of the new case contacts Chung-ho for his expertise. Upon receiving the call, Chung-ho knows this is his final chance to catch the suspect once for all.
